Life insurance application

How do we take a life insurance application with an agent or online so the applicant data, the health questions, the beneficiaries and the signatures arrive complete in new business?

Run the application as one record the applicant finishes on their own phone. Callvu prefills the applicant from the agent's quote and the insurer's data, presents the health questions in the reflexive form the product's underwriting requires (each answer opens only the follow-ups it needs), collects the beneficiary designations with the shares and the contingent beneficiaries, delivers the disclosures and the authorizations (the HIPAA authorization, the consumer report notice, the replacement notice where one applies), captures the signatures of the applicant, the owner and the agent, chases what is missing on a clock, and writes the complete application to new business with the evidence orders started. The problem today

The application sat in new business for three weeks as a 'not in good order' case, waiting for a beneficiary's date of birth and the agent's signature.

Today, without Callvu

An agent takes a life application on paper or a portal. New business finds a missing beneficiary detail, an unanswered health question, a signature on the wrong line. Each is a requirement letter to the agent, who calls the applicant, who has lost interest. The industry's not-in-good-order rate is the cost of asking the questions in the wrong order and signing in the wrong place.

A life application has a form the state approved, health questions whose answers determine the evidence the underwriter needs, beneficiary designations that will be litigated if wrong, the authorizations without which no medical record can be ordered, and signatures from the applicant, the owner when different, and the agent. The completeness is a rule, and so is the order.

An application completed in good order the first time is the whole difference in cycle time.

How it runs

From the requestto the system of record.

An agent starts an application from a quote, or an applicant starts one online. Callvu opens the application record and prefills it.

Applicant and owner
Answer the health questions, name beneficiaries, sign the authorizations and the application on their own phone.
Agent
Starts the application, sees its status, and signs the agent's report.
New business
Receives a complete application and starts the evidence orders.
Callvu
Prefills, presents reflexive questions, collects beneficiaries, delivers disclosures, captures signatures, chases and writes.
  1. Prefill and present the questions

The applicant's identity, address, the product, the face amount and the premium mode come from the quote and the insurer's data; the health and lifestyle questions are presented in reflexive form so each answer opens only the follow-ups the product's underwriting requires (a medication, a diagnosis, a hazardous activity), and the applicant answers on their own phone, in private.

  2. Chase and verify the designations and the disclosures

The beneficiary designations are collected with the full names, relationships, dates of birth and shares that total correctly, with contingent beneficiaries and a trust's details where named; the disclosures and authorizations (the HIPAA authorization for medical records, the consumer report and MIB notices, the replacement notice through its process where an existing policy is involved, the accelerated benefit and other product disclosures) are delivered and acknowledged; a missing item is chased from the right person on a clock.

  3. Sign

The applicant, the owner where different, and the agent sign in the places the form requires, on their own devices, with the identity verified and the signature evidence retained; the agent's report is completed and signed by the agent.

  4. Write back

The complete application, with the answers, the designations, the signed disclosures and authorizations and the agent's report, is written to new business in the policy system as in good order, the evidence orders the answers require (an exam, labs, an attending physician statement) are started through the evidence collection process, and the agent and the applicant see the status.

Where it ends: The application reached new business complete and in good order, with the beneficiaries correct, the authorizations signed and the evidence orders started, from the applicant's own phone. The Decision Trace shows the reflexive logic and the completeness checks; the Audit Trace shows each signature and the write.

Runtime enforcement

What is enforcedwhile the work runs.

The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.

The handoff

Between the front doorand the back office.

The front door

An agent's start or an online start; the applicant answers and signs on their own phone.

The back office

New business receives a complete application; the agent sees status rather than requirement letters.

The Decision Desk

  • A conflict between the agent's entries and the applicant's answers, or a beneficiary designation the rules flag (a minor without a trustee, shares that cannot be resolved), goes to new business in the Decision Desk with the record and only the allowed outcomes.

Questions

What buyers ask next,answered plainly.

Who answers the health questions?

The applicant, in private on their own device, in reflexive form so each answer opens only the follow-ups the underwriting needs.

What makes the application in good order?

Every required answer, beneficiary designations that are complete with shares that total, every disclosure acknowledged, and the signatures of the applicant, the owner and the agent in the right places; the process enforces it before submission.

When are the medical records ordered?

After the HIPAA authorization is signed and the application is submitted, through the evidence collection process, with the orders the answers require.
