Marketplace seller onboarding
How do we onboard a marketplace seller with the business documents, the tax forms and the bank details collected and verified, and approved sellers written to the marketplace?
Run seller onboarding as a verification checklist the seller clears through a link. Callvu prefills the application from the seller's registration (the legal entity, the country, the contact, the categories), classifies the requirements by seller type and volume (the identity of the individual or the business and its beneficial owners, the government identifier, the tax form, the bank account with ownership verification, the business address and a working contact, the category permissions and the product compliance evidence), collects each through the seller's link with the documents read on arrival, verifies against the sources (the identity document check, the business registry, the sanctions and adverse media lists, the bank account validation, the tax identifier match), routes a failed or inconclusive verification or a high-risk category to the trust desk in the Decision Desk, and writes the approved seller with its permissions, its payout schedule and its reverification date to the marketplace system.

The problem today
The seller account was approved on a photo of a utility bill, sold counterfeit goods for two months, and the payouts went to an account in someone else's name.
Marketplaces live on sellers and die on bad ones. Onboarding by email with a document checklist nobody verifies lets a fraudster in with a stolen identity, a shell business and a mule bank account. The marketplace discovers it from chargebacks, counterfeit complaints and a regulator's letter, and the real sellers pay for it in trust.
The rules now say what the marketplace must collect and verify: the INFORM Consumers Act requires high-volume third-party sellers to be verified (the bank account, the government identifier, the tax identifier and a working contact) within days and recertified annually, with suspension for non-compliance; the payment and anti-money-laundering rules require knowing the business and its beneficial owners before paying out; the tax rules require the right form before reporting. Each is a document and a check against a source, and the seller can supply them through a link in a sitting.
A seller verified at onboarding is a seller the marketplace can pay, report and stand behind.
How it runs
From the requestto the system of record.
A seller applies to sell on the marketplace. Callvu opens the onboarding from the application.
- Seller
- Provides the identity, business, tax and bank documents through a link and attests to the information.
- Trust desk
- Decides failed or inconclusive verifications and high-risk categories in the Decision Desk.
- Verification vendors and registries
- Return the identity, business, sanctions and bank account checks.
- Callvu
- Prefills, classifies, collects, verifies, routes and writes.
Prefill and classify
The application is prefilled from the registration; the seller type (an individual, a sole proprietor, a company, a cross-border seller), the expected volume (which sets the INFORM Consumers Act obligations), the categories (with their compliance evidence: safety certifications, brand authorizations, restricted product licenses) and the country classify the requirements and the verification level.
Chase and verify
Each requirement is collected through the seller's link: the identity document with a liveness check for the individual or the authorized representative, the business registration and the beneficial owners above the threshold, the government identifier, the tax form (the domestic or the foreign status form), the bank account with ownership verification, the business address and a working email and phone confirmed by a code, and the category evidence; each is read on arrival and verified against the sources (the identity vendor, the business registry, the sanctions and adverse media lists, the bank account validation, the tax identifier match), with a mismatch or an expired document chased with the specifics.
Decide
A seller whose verifications pass inside the rules is approved by rule for the categories the evidence supports; a failed or inconclusive verification, a sanctions or adverse media hit, a high-risk category, a mismatch between the bank account owner and the business, or a link to a previously removed seller goes to the trust desk in the Decision Desk with the results and only the allowed outcomes (approve, approve with limited categories or payout holds, request more evidence, or decline with the reason).
Write back
The approved seller with its verified identity, its permissions by category, its payout account and schedule, its tax status and its reverification date is written to the marketplace system, the system of record, the seller receives the approval and the rules, and the listings and the payouts are enabled only within the approved scope.
Where it ends: The seller was verified against the sources on every requirement the rules set, approved for the categories the evidence supports, and written to the marketplace with the payout account, the tax status and the reverification date. The Decision Trace shows the classification, each verification and any decision; the Audit Trace shows each document, each check and the write with time.
Runtime enforcement
What is enforcedwhile the work runs.
The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.
The handoff
Between the front doorand the back office.
The front door
The seller's application and their link; the seller completes in a sitting.
The back office
The trust desk decides only exceptions; listings and payouts are enabled from the record.
The Decision Desk
- A failed or inconclusive verification, a sanctions or adverse media hit, a high-risk category, a bank owner mismatch or a link to a removed seller goes to the trust desk in the Decision Desk with the results and only approve, approve with limits, request evidence, or decline with the reason.
