Device financing agreements

How do we present the device installment agreement with the disclosures shown and signed on screen, and store it with the order?

Make the agreement a disclosed, signed document generated from the order. When a device is sold on installments, Callvu prefills the agreement from the order and the account (the customer, the device and its identifier, the price, the down payment, the term, the credit decision and any deposit or limit), generates the TILA disclosures from those figures (the amount financed, the finance charge, the annual percentage rate, the total of payments, the payment schedule, the late and prepayment terms, the security interest where any), presents the disclosures and the agreement on the customer's secure screen in the store, the app, the web or on a call, chases the acceptance and the signature with the identity verified, routes a figure outside the program or a signer who is not the account holder to the credit desk in the Decision Desk, and stores the signed agreement with the order in the BSS, the system of record, with billing set up for the installments and a copy delivered to the customer. The problem today

The agreement was signed on a store tablet nobody could find later, with figures that did not match the order after a discount was applied.

Today, without Callvu

Device financing is the carrier's largest consumer credit book, and its paperwork is often the weakest: an agreement generated before the final discount, disclosures the customer scrolls past, a signature on a tablet image stored apart from the order, a copy never sent. When the customer disputes the balance or the regulator examines the program, the agreement and the order tell different stories.

An installment agreement payable in more than four installments is closed-end consumer credit under Regulation Z: the disclosures must be given before consummation, clearly and conspicuously, in a form the customer can keep, with the figures computed from the actual transaction. The agreement is the order's figures in legal form; it should be generated from them, not typed near them.

An agreement generated from the final order, signed on the customer's screen and stored with the order, is one that matches the bill.

How it runs

From the requestto the system of record.

A device is sold on installments (in a new line, an upgrade or an add-a-device order) and the credit decision allows financing. Callvu opens the agreement from the order.

Customer
Reads the disclosures and the agreement and signs on their secure screen.
Agent
Sees the same agreement in the store or on a call and sends the link; never signs for the customer.
Credit desk
Decides figures outside the program and signer questions in the Decision Desk.
Callvu
Prefills, generates the disclosures, presents, chases the signature, routes, stores and sets up billing.
  1. Prefill and generate

The agreement is prefilled from the final order and the account: the customer, the device and its identifier, the cash price, any discount or promotional credit and its conditions, the down payment, the term, the credit decision with any deposit or limit, and the program's terms; the TILA disclosures are generated from those figures (the amount financed, the finance charge, the annual percentage rate, the total of payments, the payment schedule with the first date, the late payment terms, the prepayment terms, the security interest where the program takes one) along with the agreement text in the program's current version.

  2. Present, then chase and verify the signature

The disclosures and the agreement are presented on the customer's secure screen (in the store on their own device or a controlled screen, in the app or the web, or by a link on a call) in their language with the key figures summarized and the full text available, the identity of the signer is verified as the account holder or an authorized buyer, and the acceptance and the signature are captured with the time and the device; an unsigned agreement is chased before the device ships or leaves the store.

  3. Decide exceptions

An agreement inside the program signs by rule; a figure outside the program (a discount that changes the amount financed after generation, a term or a price the program does not allow), a signer who is not the account holder, or a credit condition not met goes to the credit desk in the Decision Desk with the agreement and only the allowed outcomes: regenerate with the corrected figures, approve the signer with the authority recorded, or decline the financing with the cash option.

  4. Store and write back

The signed agreement with the disclosures, the signature evidence and the version is stored with the order in the BSS, the system of record, billing is set up for the installment schedule and the promotional credits with their conditions, the device is released, and the customer receives their copy of the agreement and the disclosures by their chosen method.

Where it ends: The agreement was generated from the final order with the disclosures the law requires, signed by the verified customer on their own screen, and stored with the order so the bill, the agreement and the order agree. The Decision Trace shows the figures, the disclosures and any decision; the Audit Trace shows the presentation, the signature and the storage with time.

Runtime enforcement

What is enforcedwhile the work runs.

The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.

The handoff

Between the front doorand the back office.

The front door

The store, the app, the web or a call with a link; the customer reads and signs on their own screen.

The back office

The credit desk decides only figure and signer exceptions; the agreement is stored and billed from the record.

The Decision Desk

  • A figure outside the program, a signer who is not the account holder or a credit condition not met goes to the credit desk in the Decision Desk with the agreement and only regenerate, approve the signer with the authority recorded, or decline the financing.

Questions

What buyers ask next,answered plainly.

What does the customer see before signing?

The TILA disclosures generated from the order's figures (the amount financed, the finance charge, the annual percentage rate, the total of payments, the schedule and the terms) and the agreement text, on their own screen, with the full text available.

Where is the agreement stored?

With the order in the BSS, with the signature evidence and the version, and a copy is delivered to the customer and available in their account.

What if a discount changes the figures after the agreement is generated?

The credit desk regenerates the agreement with the corrected figures; nothing is signed on figures that do not match the order.
