Add or remove a vehicle or driver

How do we add or remove a vehicle or a driver from any channel with the data and proofs collected, the change rated, and the endorsement bound in policy administration?

Run the endorsement as a rated change the policyholder confirms. Callvu identifies the policyholder, prefills the policy and the household, takes the new vehicle (decoded from the identification number, with the lienholder and the use) or the new driver (with the license, the motor vehicle record pulled with consent, and the relationship) on a secure screen, chases the proofs the state or the rules require (the license image, the purchase document, a signed exclusion for a removed driver who stays in the household), rates the change and shows the premium before confirmation, routes a driver with a record outside authority or an exclusion to the underwriter in the Decision Desk, binds the endorsement with its effective date and writes it to policy administration with the ID cards and the lienholder's evidence. The problem today

The new car was driven for eleven days on the dealer's assumption that the agent had added it; the agent had a voicemail.

Today, without Callvu

A policyholder buys a car on Saturday, leaves the agent a message, and drives. The lienholder wants evidence of insurance by Monday. A teenager gets a license and is added by phone without the motor vehicle record, so the rate is wrong until renewal. A driver who moved out is removed without the signed exclusion the state requires, and a claim later turns on it.

Adding or removing a vehicle or a driver is an endorsement under the state's binding rules: the data that rates it (the vehicle's identification number, use, garaging and lienholder; the driver's license, record, age and relationship), the proofs the state or the insurer requires (a signed named driver exclusion, the license), the effective date and the binder's timing, and the documents that follow (the ID cards, the lienholder's evidence). Each is a rule the policy system can apply, and the policyholder can supply the data from their phone on Saturday.

A rated change the policyholder confirms is bound when they tap, not when the agent returns the call.

How it runs

From the requestto the system of record.

A policyholder requests to add or remove a vehicle or a driver in any channel (the app, the website, a call, an agent, an AI assistant, or a dealer's link). Callvu identifies them and opens the endorsement.

Policyholder
Enters the vehicle or driver, uploads the proofs, sees the premium and confirms on a secure screen.
Added or removed driver
Consents to the record pull or signs the exclusion on their own phone where the rules require.
Underwriter
Decides a driver outside authority or an exclusion in the Decision Desk.
Lienholder
Receives the evidence of insurance.
Callvu
Prefills, decodes and pulls records, chases proofs, rates, routes, binds and writes.
  1. Prefill and capture

The policy, the vehicles, the drivers and the household are prefilled; for a vehicle, the identification number decodes the year, make, model and safety features, and the use, garaging, lienholder and purchase date are entered; for a driver, the license number, date of birth and relationship are entered and the motor vehicle record is pulled with the driver's consent; for a removal, the reason and the date.

  2. Chase and verify

The proofs the state or the rules require are requested through a link and read: the license image, the purchase or lease document for the lienholder and the date, a photo of the vehicle where the rules require it for physical damage coverage, and for a driver removed who remains in the household, the state's named driver exclusion signed by the policyholder and the excluded driver; a discrepancy with the record is put to the policyholder.

  3. Rate and decide

The change is rated under the filed plan and the premium change is shown with the effective date before the policyholder confirms; a driver with a record outside authority, an exclusion, a vehicle type the rules flag, or a removal that leaves the household without a rated driver goes to the underwriter in the Decision Desk with the record and only the allowed outcomes (bind, bind with conditions, decline with the adverse action notice where the record drove it).

  4. Bind and write back

The endorsement binds with its effective date (the purchase date within the policy's automatic coverage period, or the date chosen), it is written to policy administration with the documents, the ID cards are issued to the app and the lienholder's evidence of insurance is sent, and the billing reflects the premium change.

Where it ends: The vehicle or driver change was captured from the policyholder's phone, rated on the decoded and pulled data, decided where the rules required, and bound in policy administration with the cards and the lienholder's evidence issued. The Decision Trace shows the data sources, the rating and any decision; the Audit Trace shows the proofs, the confirmation and the bind.

Runtime enforcement

What is enforcedwhile the work runs.

The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.

The handoff

Between the front doorand the back office.

The front door

Any channel including a dealer's link; the policyholder and the added or removed driver act on their own phones.

The back office

The underwriter sees only records outside authority and exclusions; policy administration is written by the process.

The Decision Desk

  • A driver with a record outside authority, a named driver exclusion, a flagged vehicle type or a removal that leaves no rated driver goes to the underwriter in the Decision Desk with the record and only bind, bind with conditions, or decline with the notice.

Questions

What buyers ask next,answered plainly.

Can the policyholder add a car on a Saturday?

Yes. They enter the identification number and the lienholder on their phone, upload the purchase document, see the premium, confirm, and the endorsement binds with the ID card and the lienholder's evidence issued.

What is needed to add a driver?

The license, the date of birth and the relationship, the driver's consent to the record pull, and the license image; a record outside authority goes to the underwriter.

How is a driver removed who still lives in the household?

With the state's named driver exclusion form, signed by the named insured and, where the state requires, the excluded driver, before the removal takes effect.
