Consumer deposit account opening
How do we open consumer deposit accounts from any channel without re-keying CIP data into the core?
Run one account-opening process behind every door. Callvu prefills what the bank already knows, collects the CIP data and identity documents, checks them, delivers the Truth in Savings, funds availability and electronic funds transfer disclosures before the account exists, captures E-SIGN consent and the funding instruction, and books the account in the core once. Live at Bank Leumi, under national rules outside the US.

The problem today
Three doors, three forms, and the core gets whichever copy was typed last.
A customer starts online and gives up at the document upload. They come into the branch, where a banker types the same details again into the account platform, prints the disclosures, and asks for a signature. Deposit operations later finds that the identification number was transposed, the funds availability disclosure is missing from the file, and the account was funded before the verification result came back.
The CIP rule does not care which door the customer used. It requires the name, date of birth, address and identification number before the account is opened, verification within a reasonable time after, a check against government lists, and a record kept for five years after the account closes. A process spread over a web form, a branch workstation and a scanned folder produces that record by assembly, after the fact.
Each re-keying adds errors and each error becomes an exception: a returned statement, a failed verification, a Reg DD disclosure that cannot be shown to have been delivered before the account was opened.
How it runs
From the requestto the system of record.
A prospective customer starts online, in a branch with a banker, or on a call with the contact center. The same process opens from each door, and a customer who stops in one channel can continue in another with everything they already gave.
- Applicant
- Provides identity data and documents, reads and acknowledges the disclosures, signs, and funds the account.
- Branch or contact center
- Opens or assists the application on the same screens, without retyping what the applicant already entered.
- Deposit operations
- Reviews the exceptions the process could not clear and sees every booked account with its complete file.
- Callvu
- Prefills, collects and checks the CIP data, delivers the disclosures in order, enforces consent before anything electronic, and books the account in the core.
Prefill
For an existing customer, Callvu reads the core and the CRM and prefills identity and contact data. For a new customer, the application starts empty and the applicant enters each item once.
Classify the product and the path
The account type decides the required disclosures, the identification standard, whether a joint owner must be identified, and the funding options. Callvu sets the required items from the bank's policy for that product.
Chase and verify identity
The CIP data (name, date of birth, address, identification number) is collected and the identification document is captured and read. Verification runs against the bank's chosen sources and the government lists. A missing item is requested from the applicant with a link; the file shows what is outstanding.
Disclosures before opening
The Truth in Savings account disclosure, the funds availability policy disclosure and the electronic funds transfer initial disclosures are delivered and acknowledged before the account is opened. For electronic delivery, E-SIGN consent is captured first, in a way that demonstrates the applicant can access the documents.
Decide
A clean verification books automatically. A verification that returns a mismatch, a list hit or a document that cannot be read routes to deposit operations in the Decision Desk with only the allowed outcomes: request another document, approve with a safeguard such as a hold on funding, or decline.
Write back
The account, the owners, the disclosures with their acknowledgment timestamps, the verification result and the funding instruction are written to the core and the document system. The welcome and the CIP notice go out from the record.
Where it ends: The account is booked in the core with its complete file: CIP data and verification result, disclosures with delivery and acknowledgment times, consent, signature and funding. The Decision Trace shows every check and the Audit Trace shows every step.
Runtime enforcement
What is enforcedwhile the work runs.
The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.
The handoff
Between the front doorand the back office.
The front door
Online, in the branch, on a call, or started by an AI agent over MCP: one process, the same required items, the same order of disclosures. Identity documents, consent and signature are captured on process-controlled screens, never inside a chat.
The back office
Deposit operations receives only the exceptions, each with the complete application and the verification result. The booked account arrives in the core once, with its file, so nobody rebuilds it from a scanned folder.
The Decision Desk
- A verification mismatch, a list hit or an unreadable document goes to deposit operations in the Decision Desk with the application, the result and only the allowed outcomes: request another document, approve with a safeguard, or decline.
- The reviewer is nudged until they act, and the applicant is told what is needed, not left waiting.

Questions
What buyers ask next,answered plainly.
Can a customer start online and finish in the branch?
Yes. The application is one record. What the customer entered online is on the banker's screen, and nothing is typed twice.
What stops an account from opening before the disclosures are delivered?
The process order. The Truth in Savings, funds availability and electronic funds transfer disclosures are delivered and acknowledged, with timestamps, before the step that creates the account can run.
What happens when identity verification fails?
The application goes to deposit operations in the Decision Desk with the result and only the outcomes the bank's policy allows. Nothing auto-declines, and nothing books until a person decides.
Does Callvu replace the account opening platform or the core?
No. Callvu runs the process from the door to the core and writes the account, its owners and its file to the systems the bank already has.
What does the examiner see?
The CIP data and verification result, the disclosure delivery and acknowledgment times, the consent and the funding, for every account, in the Audit Trace.
