Renewable energy option enrollment

How do we enroll a customer in a renewable energy option with the terms accepted and the charge added to billing under the program's tariff?

Make the enrollment a disclosed election on a secure screen. Callvu identifies the customer and prefills the account (the rate, the usage, the existing green or solar enrollments), presents the renewable energy options the tariff offers (a percentage of usage or a block subscription, the premium per unit and the estimated monthly charge on the customer's usage, the resource mix and the renewable energy certificate retirement, the term and the cancellation), captures the election and the acknowledgment of the program's disclosures, checks eligibility by rule (the customer class, the program's capacity, conflicts with net metering or community solar), and writes the enrollment with its charge and effective cycle to CIS and the billing system with the confirmation and the annual program disclosure scheduled.

The problem today

The customer thought the green option changed where their electricity came from, and the charge on the bill was the first they heard of the premium.

Today, without Callvu

Voluntary renewable energy programs are simple to sell and easy to misdescribe. A customer opts in on a call without hearing the premium, the block structure or that the program retires certificates rather than delivering different electrons; the charge appears on the bill; the complaint cites the agent. The program's reputation, and the commission's view of it, depend on the disclosure at enrollment.

The tariff's renewable option (a green pricing rider) sets the structure (a percentage of usage or blocks), the premium, the eligible customers, the resource mix and the certificate retirement, the term, the cancellation and the annual disclosure to participants; the consumer protection rules and the state's and the trade regulator's guidance on environmental marketing claims govern how the program is described. The enrollment is where the disclosures are made and the election recorded.

A green option the customer understood is a charge they expected.

How it runs

From the requestto the system of record.

A customer opts into a renewable energy option online, in the app, by phone or through an AI assistant. Callvu identifies them and opens the enrollment.

Callvu
Prefills, presents the options and disclosures, checks eligibility, captures the election and writes.
  1. Prefill and present

The account, the rate, the twelve months of usage and the existing enrollments are prefilled; the options the tariff offers are presented with the structure (a percentage or blocks), the premium and the estimated monthly charge on the customer's usage, the resource mix and the certificate retirement explained in plain terms, the term, the cancellation and the annual disclosure.

  2. Elect and acknowledge

The customer elects the option and the level and acknowledges the program's disclosures on a secure screen; the election is recorded with its time and the disclosures shown.

  3. Check and decide

Eligibility runs by rule (the customer class, the program's capacity or waitlist, a conflict with net metering or a community solar subscription where the tariff excludes it); a capacity limit or a conflict goes to the program desk in the Decision Desk with the record and only the allowed outcomes (enroll, waitlist, enroll on the alternative option, or decline with the reason).

  4. Write back

The enrollment with the level, the charge and the effective cycle is written to CIS and the billing system, the customer receives the confirmation with what the bill will show, and the annual program disclosure and the certificate retirement report are scheduled to the participant.

Where it ends: The customer elected a renewable option after seeing the premium on their own usage and the program's disclosures, eligibility was checked, and CIS and the billing system hold the enrollment and its charge with the annual disclosure scheduled. The Decision Trace shows the disclosures shown, the eligibility and any decision; the Audit Trace shows the election and the write.

Runtime enforcement

What is enforcedwhile the work runs.

The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.

The handoff

Between the front doorand the back office.

The front door

Online, in the app, by phone with a link, or an AI assistant; the customer elects on a secure screen.

The back office

The program desk decides only capacity and conflicts; billing applies the charge from the record.

The Decision Desk

  • A capacity limit or a conflict with another enrollment goes to the program desk in the Decision Desk with the record and only enroll, waitlist, enroll on the alternative, or decline.

Questions

What buyers ask next,answered plainly.

What does the customer see before enrolling?

The options with the premium and the estimated monthly charge on their own usage, the resource mix, that certificates are retired on their behalf, the term and the cancellation, in plain terms.

Does the program change the electricity delivered?

No, and the enrollment says so; the program retires renewable energy certificates matching the subscription and reports it annually.

When does the charge start?

On the next billing cycle after the election, written to CIS and the billing system with the confirmation.
