Contractor and repair network assignment

How do we assign the right contractor to a home claim by trade and area, get the customer's agreement, and track the job to completion on the claim?

Make the assignment a classification and the agreement a signed choice. Callvu reads the claim (the damage type, the location, the severity, the estimate), classifies the trades the repair needs (roofing, water mitigation, restoration, electrical, plumbing) and the urgency, matches network contractors by trade, service area, capacity, licensing and performance, presents the policyholder with the choice (the network contractor with the program's guarantee, or their own contractor as the state allows), captures their agreement and the authorization to proceed, decides exceptions in the Decision Desk, and writes the assignment to the claims system with the contractor's milestones, inspections and invoices tracked on the claim.

The problem today

The policyholder was handed a list of three contractors, called them all, and the one who answered was not licensed for the county.

Today, without Callvu

A kitchen fire. The adjuster approves the estimate and gives the policyholder a list from the network. The policyholder calls; one is booked out, one does not serve the area, one takes the job. Weeks later the insurer finds the contractor's license lapsed and its insurance certificate expired. The invoice does not match the estimate, and nobody tracked the milestones because the job lived in the contractor's email.

Managed repair programs have rules: the contractors in the network are vetted (licenses, insurance, background, performance), the policyholder's right to choose their own contractor is disclosed under state anti-steering rules, the program's guarantee on the work is stated, the assignment matches the trade and the area, and the job runs on milestones with inspections and invoices tied to the estimate. All of it is data the insurer already holds about the contractors and the claim.

The assignment is where the claim turns into a repair, and it should be the most organized step, not the loosest.

How it runs

From the requestto the system of record.

A home claim with repairable damage reaches an approved estimate, or mitigation is needed at first notice. Callvu opens the assignment on the claim.

Policyholder
Chooses between the network contractor and their own, agrees to the assignment, and rates the work.
Contractor
Accepts the assignment, reports milestones with photos, and invoices against the estimate through their link.
Claims
Decides exceptions and approves supplements in the Decision Desk.
Callvu
Classifies, matches, captures the choice, decides exceptions and tracks the job to completion.
  1. Classify the repair

The damage type and the estimate's line items classify the trades needed, the urgency (emergency mitigation within hours, standard repair), the location and access, any permits the work needs, and the program's guarantee that applies; the classification sets the contractor profile to match.

  2. Match and offer

Network contractors are matched by trade, service area, current capacity, active licensing in the jurisdiction, current insurance, background status and performance score; the policyholder sees the match with the program's guarantee and the state's disclosure of their right to choose their own contractor, and chooses on a secure screen; a policyholder's own contractor is onboarded through the vendor process before any direction to pay.

  3. Decide and assign

The assignment within the program's rules is made by rule and the contractor accepts through their link with the estimate and the milestones; no matching contractor in the area, a policyholder's own contractor with a licensing problem, or a job above the program's limit goes to claims in the Decision Desk with the options and only the allowed outcomes.

  4. Write back and track

The assignment, the policyholder's choice and agreement, the contractor's acceptance and the milestones are written to the claims system; the contractor reports each milestone with photos, inspections are scheduled at the program's points, supplements go through the estimate approval process, invoices are matched to the estimate and paid through the supplier process, and the policyholder's completion sign-off and rating close the job on the claim.

Where it ends: The right contractor was matched on data the insurer already held, the policyholder's choice and the state's disclosure were recorded, and the job ran on milestones the claim could see through to the policyholder's sign-off. The Decision Trace shows the classification, the match and any exception; the Audit Trace shows the choice, the acceptance, each milestone and the completion.

Runtime enforcement

What is enforcedwhile the work runs.

The regulations preloaded in Callvu Studio and the bank's own policies, applied as steps that run, not lines in a binder. A step that breaks a rule does not run, so a completed run was compliant.

The handoff

Between the front doorand the back office.

The front door

The policyholder chooses on a secure screen after the estimate; the contractor works from their link.

The back office

Claims sees exceptions and supplements; the job's status is on the claim, not in email.

The Decision Desk

  • No match in the area, a chosen contractor with a licensing or insurance problem, or a job above the program's limit goes to claims in the Decision Desk with the options and only the allowed outcomes.

Questions

What buyers ask next,answered plainly.

How is the contractor chosen?

By matching the trades and urgency from the estimate against network contractors' service area, capacity, current license and insurance and performance; the policyholder sees the match and the program's guarantee.

Can the policyholder use their own contractor?

Yes, as the state's right-to-choose rules provide; the disclosure is on the choice screen and their contractor is onboarded through the vendor process before any direction to pay.

How is the job tracked?

On the claim: milestones with photos, inspections at the program's points, supplements through estimate approval, invoices matched to the estimate, and the policyholder's sign-off at completion.
